Traditional pesto sauce starts with one very important ingredient:
basil
Fresh basil is abundant in farmers markets
and can also be
found in most local grocery stores
one cup of pine nuts
¼ cup grated
Parmesan cheese
½ cup of extra virgin olive oil
Salt and Pepper
Side note:
I like to use onion, jalapeno, and a simple squeeze of lime
Mix all the ingredient together in a food processor
Serve on pasta with a small salad and there you go
